Hello Stephen,

We enjoyed our time at your cottages tremendously- albeit we were getting a bit tired and the weather was “soft” (to say the least). 

We are now back in Perth, West Australia. It is very different to head from the minus two to the 38 degrees it was here yesterday with the glare of the sunlight. I am not sure when we will be back in Ireland- possibly not for a few years- but we would certainly love to return to your cottages at Achill.

    My husband, 4 children and I arrived for 5 days on Achill Island.  The cottages         were easy to find and they were exactly as described on the website.  The owner         was extremely welcoming, the house was clean and ready and was fully equipped         with everything we needed for our break, including books, towels, DVD player         etc.  Our cottage was also suitable for disabled persons with a seated shower in the     downstairs bathroom, a ramp at the front door and a downstairs bedroom.  The         owner provided us with local information about places to go and see on the island     and there was lots of information in the cottage to read about the island.  We had a     brilliant, relaxing break exploring Achill Island and the cottages were a great base to     explore both the Island and County Mayo. All in all, the cottages were beautiful,         tranquil and ideally suited to exploring County Mayo and the owner was extremely     helpful and welcoming.  We would definitely like to return here again and would         highly recomment the cottages to everyone.

    If you want to go on your own and rent a house there are plenty to             choose from...I'd recommend Achill Cottages at Achill Sound. I stayed here     last October for the Bank Holiday Wknd and had a great time with a few         mates. The houses are well kitted out and there's nothing better than         sparking up the open fire after a surf in the cold evenings!     Thank you, we had a lovely stay in Achill and the cottage was so good,         spotlessly clean, bright, spacious, warm and comfortable with everything     we needed. And with just four of us staying it was still very good value.         We cooked dinner for 6 people on Friday night and found the kitchen             excellent.Thanks also to Rosaleen for leading the walk on Sunday, we         really enjoyed the local knowledge.If we are returning to Achill we will         certainly contact you and recommend you to anyone else.

    We arrived home to warm summer weather almost as nice as Achill!  It         was such a pleasure to return to your Cottage Steven.  I have traveled         all over the world and to Achill since I was very little and I must admit         there is nothing more beautiful than a sunny day in Achill!  Truly a very         special part of this world we live in.  A small piece of heaven that seems     to stay the same which is a blessing.  I do appreciate you taking such         good care of your cottages there.  There was never a question of what         we would find when we arrived a lovely cottage with a warm greeting         from you and your wife.  I would recommend your cottage to all that are     interested in seeing a small part of Ireland that represents the true             Ireland.. unspoiled with nature at it's best.  The cottage was close to the     beaches as well as the cliffs for hiking.  Also, we enjoyed the easy access     to Sweeney's grocery store as well as restaurants etc.  Overall a great         visit for me and a wonderful return for my Mom and Dad.  As My Dad says     all the time.. "Achill is like Hawaii with a cooler breeze".

Just a quick note to thank you for the beautiful cottage last weekend.  We had a fantastic time on the island, Friday was a bit rainy but Saturday was glorious so took a drive around the Atlantic Drive which was just stunning. My father-in-law also met up with his cousin who took us to Ashleen to show us where his mum and dad used to stay. Julie-anne could not have been more helpful - her and her husband were just lovely.
